The Association

(c) Daniel Eichbichler

The ADKC has been officially registered as an association since 12 December 2024. It is led by a voluntary nine-member board, whose members come from different organisations within the network and work closely with the salaried team. We are also connected with public administration, political institutions, business and partner organisations in Italy, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

We connect, inform and spark discussion.

Cultural life in South Tyrol is diverse. It thrives on the many committed people who do invaluable work for those around them, both as volunteers and as professionals. As the ADKC — a coming-together of societies, organisations, umbrella bodies, institutions and collectives from across South Tyrolean culture — we want our network to create better long-term conditions for work in the cultural sector. We do this by putting cultural-policy topics on the agenda, discussing them together, sharing information, working in partnership, and bringing our concerns to decision-makers as one. Together, our voices grow louder and our reach grows wider.

We do…

Networking for cultural diversity.

The ADKC sees itself as a living ecosystem of cultural organisations in South Tyrol. Together, we share ideas, concerns, resources and expertise, with collaboration and community at the heart of all we do.

We organise regular meetings and events to foster intercultural dialogue and deepen cooperation across the cultural scene. These range from informal discussions and exchanges, through facilitated roundtables, to larger cultural festivals.

Political advocacy.

Culture is always political. As the ADKC, we speak up for South Tyrol’s cultural sector when it comes to both politics and society. As an advocacy group, we work with policymakers and institutions to make sure culture gets the recognition, funding and support it deserves. In doing so, we stand up actively and consistently for the cultural scene.

Awareness and outreach.

Culture belongs at the heart of society. Through campaigns and projects, we spotlight cultural diversity and make its impact tangible. Our aim is to help a wide audience appreciate the communal value of regional culture, a value that goes beyond the economic.

Mission / Vision

We bring South Tyrol’s cultural community together.

We provide a platform for organisations and societies.

We stand up for fair and secure conditions for cultural workers.

As the ADKC, we stand together with our members for an open, mutually supportive and inclusive cultural sector, regardless of language group, background, gender, identity, age, ability or disability. We are committed to core democratic values, foster cohesion and actively support one another. By joining, all ADKC members commit to these values. Our credo: open to new ideas, open to shaping society, open to staying critical.
